What's my best option?

Postby colossk » Sat Feb 18, 2012 1:10 pm

Currently my database is extremely large. I have about 29 million datamined hands from the past 2 months (I datamine 7-8 diff sites, 6 max and FR NL 200-2knl) and space is at a premium. I am almost out of space. I have 2 SSD drives but only utilize one, the other is for movies games etc.

If I were to use both drives strictly for poker I was thinking my best option was to have my observed hands for FR in 1 database my observed hands for 6 max in another database and my played hands in a 3rd database.

Is this feasable to have 3 databases spread over 2 hard drives? Will I lose performance at all?

These are my main concerns: I don't want any of these to be an issue

1) I play 6 max and Full Ring at the same time
2) I aggressively table select over these sites with table scan turbo
3) I have an extremely detailed and custom hud. Some stats are very detailed and very resource intensive. I don't want to lose any HUD functionality. IE) If I am playing with the same villain on a FR table and a 6 max table I want the hud to be able to differentiate the stats between the 2 games (4-6 handed and 7-10 handed) like it does now with 1 database

Thank you for your help

Having 3 databases over 2 hard drives should not cause any performance issues that I'm aware of. The only potential problem would be that if you import the same hands into any two databases those hands will be double counted for players in them.

Is there a guide that will show me how to create multiple databases over multiple hard drives?

Thank You
