Mac Install help

Postby bglick » Thu Mar 08, 2012 7:46 pm

Hi guys,

Running Mac Os 10.6.8, and playing on the merge network. Tried installing PT3 on my mac, but been having a lot of trouble.

First I downloaded the trial version, but everytime I tried installing I got some error message about PostgreSQl, I can't remember what specifically though, just that, that part couldn't install properly. So then I went to the PostgreSQL website and downloaded it separately (because I got confused and I thought PT3 didn't do that for you). Still nothing changed. I deleted PT3 from my computer (well not really, I just deleted the program/the folder within the Library folder, even though I figured this wouldn't do anything), and redownloaded it. Now, when I try starting it (after I hit continue trial), I get the message "Unable to connect".

These are the default settings that I left it at:
Server: Local Host
Database User: postgres
Port: 5432
Password: dbpass

What should I do?

Thanks in advance!

What version of Mac OS do you have?

Try uninstalling PostgreSQL and re-installing it - check out the steps in this post. (Replace "9.1" with whatever version you have)
