Hi,

Tks again for you reply.
I succeed making the changes you told me in the pgAdmin III but it still doesn't work.
I copied the line of the edit "lookup_positions" for 5 players table for you to check if I did it right :

5;0;"BUTTON";FALSE;FALSE;FALSE;TRUE
5;1;"CO";FALSE;FALSE;TRUE;FALSE
5;2;"UTG";FALSE;TRUE;FALSE;FALSE
5;3;"MP";FALSE;FALSE;TRUE;FALSE
5;4;"UTG";FALSE;TRUE;FALSE;FALSE
5;8;"BB";TRUE;FALSE;FALSE;FALSE
5;9;"SB";TRUE;FALSE;FALSE;FALSE

What I don't understand by the way is that there are 7 lines while there should be just 5 for 5 players... There should just be "Buton", "CO", "UTG", "BB" and "SB"
- What does the "MP" stand for ?
- Why are there 2 lines for the same "UTG" positions ?
Anyway I set the "CO" and the "MP" to be "fl_mp" and didn't touch the rest of the columns.
Then I went into the Database Management and click "Housekeeping" and then quote "rebuid cache" and click.
Then shut down my computer and restart again, played several hands but unfortunately the CO stats still goes in the "LP" column... Any clue ? Tks

That's very odd as far as I knew that was all that the positional data looked at - clearly from your experience that is not so.

Could you create a support ticket for this issue and link to this thread so that we can get a developer to look into this further for you?

Its wooooooooorking !! So cool to have the details on each position !!!
For other users who want to do it as well, you definately have to use the second method (through "PGadminIII") AND after its done to clear filters...
Thanks very much for your help & time Whiterider/Kraada !

Glad to hear you got it all working - were you filtering to old data? If you use the cache rebuild mechanism via Database Management it should rebuild the data for old hands to show you the proper values.

Coool! I wanna do this! I am no postgres expert so I have a few short questions:

1. Of course I have to do this whenever I open a new DB? There is no way to set the new position defintions as standard?
2. Can I copy paste the changes in the position grid so as I do not have to do it manually for each DB (copy paste whole grid)?
3. I'm running postgres 8.3. Should I update? To which version? Should I update before I change the position definitions? Are the new positions definitions stored when I update postgres later?

And now my bonus question:
I'm suggesting customizable position definitions since .... years, I think. WHY you never told me, that there actually is a posibility to do it?

thanx

1. Yes, you'll need to change it for each new database. You could script it of course, so that you don't need to re-type it all every time.
2. You may be able to do this by making a backup of just that table from one database and restoring it into another using PGAdmin (or via the command prompt), but I'd experiment in a new database first to make sure you don't break anything.
3. Personally I would suggest updating to the latest 8.3 version (Directions here) but not to 8.4 yet. We just found something in 8.4 which leads to slower queries in some cases - there will be a setting change in the next release to fix that, but it's possible there are other undiscovered issues. Generally 8.4 is fine, but I wouldn't upgrade just for the sake of it yet.
Bonus: I can't speak for you personally, but we've been explaining how to do this for a while now - sorry if you missed it. Maybe you were asking before we knew about this method.

I'll add it to the list, but this is just a workaround and hopefully the configurability will be added within PT3 (although I don't have a timescale for that).

Since the difference between SB and BB is huge in FL games, only having "Blinds" is a bit of a handicap. Any chance of getting those separated in the DBs and PT3 UI?

EDIT: Also, if I manually edit the lookup positions data, will it be overwritten at some point when PT3 has one of those updates where the database has to be reconstructed?

I'll ask but I wouldn't expect to see that happen soon - it would increase the size of the cache considerably.

It's possible the data may be wiped out by an update but I don't believe any such update is planned anytime soon.
