counting hands since last hand played

Postby jgberaud » Mon Jun 01, 2009 4:30 am

Hi,
I'm looking for a stat giving the number of hands dealt since the last time a player saw a flop (when not in big blind).
The purpose is to identify players mucking all their hands, in specific situations like the bubble, or other rapid changes in their playing style wich is impossible to detect by looking at their stats based on all hands played.

Thanks for your help.

That stat isn't going to be possible to build at this point, I'm afraid.

I think I will manage my problem using the HUD options (Stat for the last n hands).
And what about stats where the number of hands can be customized ? Do you think it's possible to build such stats ?

I'm not sure what stats you mean; could you elaborate some?

Well, the only relevant stats are VPIP and PFR. So it will be interesting to have two stats giving the VPIP and PFR for the last 20 or 30 hands. So in the HUD you can display both VPIP for all hands in the database and VPIP for the last 20 hands.

How would the last X minutes suit you? I think that might (thought I'm not certain) be buildable, though you would always need to take care to have stopped playing for more than X minutes before caching lest some old hands get accidentally added to the cache.

How many minutes would you like X to be, if I could build this?

Okay, I'll look into that. It may take me a little while to get something together, though.

You give me the solution by using the time instead of the number of hands. I've just created two columns :

cnt_hands_last
sum(if[ current_timestamp - interval '12 minutes' < tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics.date_played, 1, 0])

cnt_vpip_last
sum(if[ tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_vpip and (current_timestamp - interval '12 minutes' < tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics.date_played), 1, 0])

and a new stat :

VP$IP - last
(cnt_vpip_last / cnt_hands_last) * 100

I will try the new stat and I'll let you know if it suits me

Thanks, keep me posted. Just make sure you don't do housekeeping within 12 minutes of one of your last sessions or the hands that are at the tail end will be added to the cache value for cnt_vpip_last and cnt_hands_last which will skew your results.
