Ways to defend against a steal

Postby pccarballo » Fri Jul 31, 2009 6:41 am

I can see how often a players defends his blinds against a steal. But how do I see the way he defends? (either calling or 3betting)

It depends how and where you want to see this info, but I guess you mean in the HUD?

There are "Raise BB Steal Att" and SB stats built in, which show how often the player raised when facing a steal. You could add these to your HUD as they are in the Holdem Cash Player Statistics section.
This and the fold to steal stats will let you see how often they call (by inference) but if you want to have a stat for "Call BB Steal Att" too you could duplicate the 'raise' stats and columns and change the expressions in the columns to see how often their first action was "Call".
The column expression for that looks like this:
cnt_bb_steal_call =
sum(if[holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_blind_b AND holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_blind_def_opp AND lookup_actions_p.action LIKE 'C%', 1, 0])

Just a follow up question on this but i have all my stats in the HUD with a % followed by number of times it has happened. I mean like this :- Attempt To Steal 26% (34/131). Now ive tried to make the above stat so i can use it in the same way using the following format expression :-format( '{1}% ({2}/{3})', format_number((cnt_sb_steal_raise / cnt_steal_def_opp_sb) * 100 ,0,false,false), cnt_sb_steal_raise / cnt_steal_def_opp_sb) but for some reason it is bringing up some weird numbers like SB Raise Steal Att 5% (0.0454555/ ).
Ive checked it against my other stats but cant see anything that springs out at me. Is the expression wrong or is it not possible to do that with that stat? I havnt updated the cache as i just went to the replayer and wanted to see if it was working like ive done with my others without any problems.

You've got a typo.

You have:

format( '{1}% ({2}/{3})', format_number((cnt_sb_steal_raise / cnt_steal_def_opp_sb) * 100 ,0,false,false), cnt_sb_steal_raise / cnt_steal_def_opp_sb)

You want:

format( '{1}% ({2}/{3})', format_number((cnt_sb_steal_raise / cnt_steal_def_opp_sb) * 100 ,0,false,false), cnt_sb_steal_raise, cnt_steal_def_opp_sb)

(And don't feel bad, it happens to the best of us :)

Cheers for that. I still had to look about 3 times to see it. :D
