All-in EV graph with limit hold 'em

I recently downloaded pokertracker 3 demo have played a couple of thousand hands with it, and have been playing around with it.

I saw the All-in EV graph feature and have a question. I only play limit hold 'em, how does pokertracker 3 calculate 'All-In EV' with limit hold em as I have never gone 'all in'?

By the way, I have looked around online and understand how all-in ev is calculated in no-limit (and what it's limitations are in terms of as an indicator as to how good/bad you are running).

The EV graph shows you your actual results for hands you were not all in. Please take a look at the FAQ: EV Graphs for more details on how these graphs work.

Thanks for your reply. Maybe I am stupid but what you seem to say (I don't entirely understand your post to be honest) seems to contradict the the link you posted:

In situations where you or your opponents are all-in, we can calculate what the result would be if no more cards were to be dealt and instead each player was returned their equity in the pot.

Obviously the quote says you or your opponents are all in, where you seem to say not all in.

I play limit hold em and have auto rebuy on which is set to the maximum number of big bets I can place in a hand, so never go all in. My opponents rarely do to even though it happens occasionally. Pokertracker seems to record the all in ev for every hand I have played so I am now more confused.

The EV graph should be equivalent to your amount won for all hands you are not all in. If you have hands that are showing a divergence where you are not all in please attach those hands to a support ticket and we will investigate further for you.

I am aware you do not get all-in often in limit poker, and that this graph therefore will be only of limited use for Limit players.

Thanks for your reply. I have never been all in in the 15k or so hands the trial of pt3 has been running for but there is a all-in ev graph for those 15k hands, so would recommend taking a look at that issue for limit players as I am guessing it is inaccurate in this situation. I always auto reload to 12 big bets when I fall beneath it, and havent had the opportunity to cap on each street yet unfortunately Am guessing an all-in ev graph that only functioned in this situation wouldnt be too useful anyway..!
Won't submit a ticket as I have another laptop I play on, and it is fiddly getting all the various bits of data you need...

Having said that, if there is anything useful I can take from the all in ev graph it would be good to know? My all in ev and winnings line diverge a bit...

If you have never been all-in then your EV will exactly match your winnings in PT3. EV is only calculated when you are all-in, otherwise it is the same as your actual win/loss.
(There is a known issue where the graphs will diverge if you play in multiple currencies, or in a different currency to what you define your global currency to be - this is because the Amount Won line is currency-converted but the EV line is not.)

Thanks for your reply, but no the all-in ev graph definitely deviates from my winnings graph and I definitely have never been all in. I recommend you look into it. I am evaluating pt3 but I have to be able to trust the stats on display if I am to buy.

It may be this global currency thing - not sure but I play in pokerstars in USD (my preferred currency) and the graph is in USD/in Configure > Currency my Global currency is also USD...


Edit 2 - I am guessing it is this currency thing even though my preferred currency at pokerstars is the same as the global currency in pt3.

If all of your hands are in USD and your global currency is also USD then there shouldn't be a difference. Please attach a screenshot to a Support ticket, and if you can identify a session where there is a difference in the graph then please attach the hand history file for that session too. If you double click a session it will filter the graph (and other reports) to that session only.

In that case I am sure there is some sort of problem, but as I said I dont fancy raising a ticket as I find it cumbersome, my laptop for poker is different to my internet computer, they arent networked and transferring the logs etc I find a pain. Obviously even if you figure out the issue it wont help me anyway as I play limit and always reload at 12 big bets so not much point....
