PAH+PT BWIN-pokersoftware becomes slow

Postby Minorex » Wed Jul 16, 2008 9:10 am

Hi,

I'm using PTv2.17.02 and Pokerace v1.18 and I'm playing on bwin(ongame). Pokerace shows stats on my minitables(9-12 tables) after a few hands about 2-4 minutes i guess.
After some time, 10-20 minutes the bwin-software becomes very slow, the tables that I'm playing on are ok, but if i want to open new tables or want to see the list of tables on the main window, this works very slow.
Tables take up to 1 min. to open, and then the tables are mostly full so that i cannot take a seat. My PT Database(I am using just 1) contains about 26k hands.

I've done those things already:

1) use database catch+automatically update catch
2) compact a poker database

I haven't yet done the thing with "PostgreSQL Database", is this necessary because my database is not that big ?
I also have did not "Limit the Databases Selected in PokerAce Hud"

thanks for help Minorex

Does it run well if you open less tables?
I don't know that much about OnGame but I understand that it is quite resource heavy.
If your database is quite small then you shouldn't need to change to postgres.

My PC : 2,4GH Intel Core 2 Quad, 2GB RAM should be doing it ?
I will try to play 9 tables, wait until it lags and then play less tables...

Could it be PT importing the hands with a timer of 2minutes producing this problem?

That's possible, although I doubt it. How long does each import take?
Have you tried different import gaps?
Does it still slow down if you don't run the HUD?

First import takes a liddle about 1min because PT is reading all my database hands 2,6k. the following imports just a few seconds.
I've tried different timer gaps: from 1 to 5 minutes and its always the same, so i dont think its PT causing this lag.
I did not have the Lag problems before i startet using PAH.

It also takes much much longer to leave the table. Up to 1 min... not to sit out, but to close the table...

Do you use the "Reset Database" option on the PT2 auto import window?
This must be done with your poker site closed, but will clear out the OnGame hand history database (not your PT2 DB) and make it much quicker to read when the import starts, and may help your speed issue as PAH reads this file too.

It says all my data will be lost, is it possible to safe the database before? Should i make a copy of my C:\Program Files\bwin\Resources\Databases\User17809094Statistics.db ?

Yes, you can make a copy of that file.
Once you have imported all the hands from it into PT2 (which you will have been doing) then you don't need it any more, especially if you keep a backup of your PT2 database(s), but it's a not a bad idea to keep backing this file up - but the smaller you can keep it the better.
I play on prima and they have the same kind of HH file, and I use this 'reset' after every session.
