So the HUD has one line, changed from 2

Are you talking about PT3? (this is the PAH section, but your question doesn't really make sense for PAH..)
After you make changes to the PT3 HUD settings and click "Apply" you must then click PT-icon -> Save Layout.

No PT2 HUD

It doesn't say save layout it just says save after altering the preferences

So for instance one of my lines was FCBET hands seen and say PFR

I unchecked all the boxes, then saved then closed and re opened the hud

When I run PT2 the old stats are still showing

Are you sure that you are editing the layout for the correct site and table size?
When you save the layout, does the timestamp of the following file update?
C:\Program Files\PokerAce Hud\Data\Config\Layouts\Default.profile

How do I check the time stamp??

As open the file in notebook just shows drivel

In the file properties it appears to change.

This also appears to be PStars only

Like that..

Make sure you are editing the correct size table - don't mix up 9 and 10 seaters..
