Unable to update cache after registration hazzle

Postby cjheigl » Tue May 27, 2008 11:58 am

During the recent registration problems I had PokerAce uninstalled and reinstalled in the hope that would rectify the problem. It didn't but now the connecting problems to the registration server are obviously solved.

Comes the next problem: PokerAce is no longer able to update its cache. Experience is with v1.19 beta 6.

Error Box appears as follows:

PokerAce Hud Error! Unable to update cache. An exception has occured.

At first PokerAce didn't display any stats.
It detects open windows of poker client though.

Deletion of cache to reconstruct it from scratch doesn't work. Same Problem.

"Updated" PokerAce with v1.18. Cache is built. Stats are displayed.
Updated again with v1.19 beta 6. Unable to update cache as above. However, now it displays stats.

Could you please enable logging per this tutorial: Tutorial: How to Create a Log File and create a support ticket containing that log file and referencing this thread?

This can happen for a few reasons and once we have the log file we can give you more specific advice (as it will be obvious which of the reasons is causing your issue).

Workaround: "update" to v1.18, make a backup of your cache and then delete it (it's in your installation directory\Data\Temp) and rebuild it. This may take some time (full day for me). Then you can upgrade again to v1.19. So far this seems to work.
