I would be very grateful if you could answer these questions:

I'm about to buy a new computer, and one of my key concerns is the functioning of pt and pahud.

Is there any benefit of running either XP or Vista over the other as regards pt and pahud? Do both programs run equally as well on both OSs, or is XP safer and more reliable to run them on?

What specs do I need on a new laptop to be able to 20-table on Full Tilt with pt and pahud running, with no lag or slowness, running at max speed? Do more tables = using more RAM? If so, how much RAM does each new table use? Does the video card come into this picture at all? What kind of processor do I need for this? Etc?

How do I move all my poker site HHs, and PT data/HHs, over to my new pc from the old one properly?

I do not know how to use PT at all, other than to display stats with pahud. What is the best way to learn how to use PT effectively?

Is there anything else I should consider regarding pt and pahud when shopping for a new laptop?

Any dual core cpu should be good. RAM, no less than 2 GB. 3 or 4 GB is greatly preferred. The single most important factor will be your hard drive speed. You should get a hard drive that is 7200 RPM. Do not skimp on your hard drive. In order of importance:

Copy the hand histories to your laptop over a network. Backup your databases, copy them over the network and restore on your new PC.

Play with it and get comfortable. Research. There are plenty of good resources online if you search....

I would shy away from any type of video card that is integrated into your motherboard. I suggest a video card such as nVidia M series or nVidia Go series.
