Database Update Error + Question regarding Omaha Upgrade

Postby FearEquity » Tue Apr 30, 2024 10:46 am

Two questions:
1. I have been using PT4 for many years now, NLHE license only. I just updated to Omaha (all limits) - Do I need to update the software accordingly or will it now just also work for tracking Omaha hands?
I do wonder, because my liscense code stayed exactly the same after the update.

2. I just updated to the latest version. When trying to update the databases (happens with both my DBs, same result), I get the following cryptic error:

Code: Select all
Error:
Error: Unable to execute query: Fatal Error; Reason: ERROR: column "some_time" does not exist LINE 6: ... SELECT (CAST (date_part('year', timezone('UTC', some_time)... ^

What can I do to fix this?
Also, important to note, even if I try to create a new database I get the SAME errormessage and am not able to create a new (clean) DB. What the heck?

1. Your license code remains unchanged and you don't need to do anything after adding Omaha (other than restarting PokerTracker 4 if you haven't already done so).

2. This issue only happens for users that are using very old PostgreSQL versions such as v8.4 which reached its end-of-life in 2014. To fix the issue you will need to install and use PostgreSQL version v12.18 and then restore your database(s) - see this guide:

https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT4 ... postgresql

When the newer PostgreSQL version is installed then the database update should complete.
