Bomb Pots and “Game Stakes"

Postby Deckhole » Tue Jun 18, 2024 5:42 pm

I am writing an OHH (Open Hand History) converter so I can import hands from PokerNow.club into PokerTracker4.

When importing a Bomb Pot, should I indicate the “typical blinds” at the table even though, during the bomb pot, it will not match the actual blinds of the Bomb Pot hand?

I can see reasons to do it either way.

1) If I change the blinds to BIg Blind = 4xBB, then when filtering via stake amount… this hand will be filtered out (even though it was technically played at the same table/session of SB, BB stakes).

2) If I change the blinds to Small Blinds = 0 and BIg Blind = 0, and force every player to just make a 4xBB bet, then when filtering via stake amount… this hand will be filtered out (even though it was technically played at the same table/session of SB, BB stakes).

3) If I keep the blinds at SB & BB, then when filtering it should keep the hand in the same “stake level” that the table/session indicates, however, it really doesn’t technically represent the “blinds” in the hand.

PokerTracker 4 uses the regular stake for the table (number 3 in your example) for WPN bomb pots. For hands like that bomb pots can be filtered for using the methods described here or here. The latter method requires that specific text to be present in the hand history.
