Why to pay for Table Tracker ?

Postby Costel » Tue Nov 20, 2012 10:42 am

Why to pay for Table Tracker ? I don't get the idea.
I use my own hands database, my own player notes, everything is mine. Why to pay in order to use it ?
With other software like Table Tracker you pay just single once: when you buy the program and that's all.
Why to pay every month for it with Table Tracker ?

The information as to what players are at what table is stored on our servers - that way you get the data as to who is on what tables as fast as possible. As a result, we need to charge the monthly fee in order to pay for those servers.

TableTracker uses a server side solution to assure that your playing experience is not interrupted in-game. Desktop based solutions need exclusive use of the poker loby to accomplish their job, this is an inefficient use of your playing time. TableTracker has many desktop based competitors, but only TableTracker has a server side solution that integrates directly with PokerTracker 4 for a totally seamless experience and uninterrupted play. In the end, the decision is yours... its a matter of player preference, but we stand behind TableTracker as the preferred solution.

If it had "Speed, Accuracy, and Reliability" as advertised, then I'd pay for it. I even opted out from the free moth (or whatever it was) due to lack of speed, lack of accuracy, and mostly for lack of reliability.

Johan -

1) TableTracker is faster than stopping your play to do a loby scan using a desktop tool.
2) Accuracy cannot be denied, we accurately project your database against the tabels available.
3) Reliability also cannot be denied, we have had only 1 server outage in the past year, the service is up an running in the cloud every day.

We understand that TableTracker is not for everyone's workflow, it is wasn't designed to be a solution that everyone would want or need, it is only for those who need a non-intrusive solution that does not interfere with their playing workflow. If your playing 6-10 tables and you want a table selection tool then TableTracker is really hard to beat.... it is the most efficient method available. With efficiency comes a price of course, that is the real tradeoff - and this is something we certainly understand and accept as a downside due to the monthly service fee however there is no other way that we can see which would address the needs of the players like TableTracker does.

Note that I didn't say it should be free. I just said I didn't find it good enough for me to use, even for free.

Edit: Also, I don't say that there is anything better out there. There might be, but I really have no idea.

What I'd want is something that works idly in the background, updates, say, once per every five seconds, preferably once per second or more. If I spot a suitable table, I want it to be a one click operation to get there.
I realize that this is asking for too much, especially since the poker sites really shouldn't cooperate on this.

I find it much easier/faster/more reliable/you name it, to do it the old fashioned way.
For example, at Full Tilt, it is immediate already in the lobby, since the FT note colors are shown, and you can take your seat of choice right away.

Best regards,
/Johan

We accept that TableTracker is not for everyone, but for those who use it they find it VERY valuable in their workflow. You are correct to assume that your ideal solution is not possible, none of the competitive solutions can do that as well.

Why not make it to be on the both sides: server side version - paid, and client side version (running from your PC)-free ?

That is not a business we are interested in pursuing at this time, we are invested in the server side solution, other software developers are free to create their own client side apps.
