housekeping database over LAN

hi there,

i am hosting my database on LAN server and use this database from my desktop PC and my laptop. however from time to time i need to do a housekeeping in order to database perform well. but it cant be done over network from my PT4 installations on desktop or laptop. so only solution to do maintenance is to install third copy of PT4 on server PC and do whats needed from there. i am not sure about licensing.

can you consider to add such functionality to PT4 that it would be possible to do maintenance over lan? or can you release some free tool, so i can do this stuff without worrying of breaching your T&C (am i breaching them by using third copy?)

Housekeeping should work remotely as it's just calling a PostgreSQL function. What happens when you try it?

maybe a problem PostgreSQL not instaled on desktop?

Tuning is the one thing that does not work remotely. It edits your postgres.conf and without detailed information about the machine it can't know how to do it. Everything else should work.

of course you are right. i dont know why i did not try other functions.
you gave me instructions to houskeeping earlier which starts with tuning, so maybe i dont wanted to skip it and thats why i never tried anything else.

so i guess my questions are irelevant now. thanks again.
