I'd like to create a custom statistic for each position to display the average preflop 2bet size in big blinds.

I know that I can get this stat without the position specification using the value expression

amt_p_2bet_total_bb / var_cnt_2bet

But I can't figure out how to customize the numerator so that it only counts 2bets from a specific position. The Using Custom Stats and Statistics tutorial doesn't seem to cover this topic.

If you just want to know those values then adding the 'Position' statistic to a report with the average statistic will automatically group the report so you can view the breakdown of that statistic by position. If you still want to create separate custom statistics then you will need custom versions of both the numerator and denominator columns for each position you want - see this post.
